DESCRIPTION:
One of the south Asian most cooked food, Tastes great when served hot and also have most benefits for Health.
INGREDIENTS:
- ½ cup moong dal(split)
- 1 cup rice
- ¾ cup corn(optional)
- 1 finely chopped onion
- 1 finely chopped tomato
- ½ inch grated ginger
- 1 green chilli
- 1tsp pepper corn kernels
- ¾ tsp cumin seeds/jeera
- ¼ tsp turmeric powder/haldi
- 1 bay leaf
- pinch of asafoetida/hing
- 4 cups water
- 2 tbsp ghee
- salt as required
- few coriander leaves
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Soak rice and moong dal together in water for 30 minutes
- Heat 2 tbsp ghee in pressure cooker add cumin and bay leaf
- Then add onions ,saute till translucent. then add tomatoes, green chilli and ginger,turmeric powder and asafoetida. saute till the tomatoes softens
- Drain the rice and moong and add them to the pressure cooker.now add 4cup of water and salt to taste,make a 5 -6 whistle
