Nalanda

Nalanda, one of the greatest centers of learning in the ancient times, is located in the eastern Indian state of Bihar. A small village now, Nalanda is situated around 72 km off Patna, the capital of Bihar and is part of the Buddhist Circuit that also includes Bodh Gaya and Rajgir. The village has a good network of roads that connects it to the other cities of the state.
The ruins of Nalanda University are spread over an area of 14 hectares of land. The university was constructed in the Kushana style of architecture, but the impact of the Pala dynasty is widely visible throughout. Past excavations suggest that a large part of the University is still unexcavated, but nowhere does it suggest that the whole site could have accommodated 10,000 students and 2,000 teachers.
There are several places to see and visit near Nalanda too. Rajgir is around 12 km from Nalanda and a famous pilgrimage center for Hindus, Buddhists, and Jains. There are many places of interest here such as the Swarna Gufa, Griddhakuta Parvat, and Vishwa Shanti Stupa etc.
Neemrana Fort
It is one of the oldest heritage resorts of India. This fort-palace is situated on a majestic plateau of the Aravalli ranges and was built in 1464 A.D. by Prithviraj Chauhan lll. Placed on a rocky outcrop. It is situated at a distance of about 122kms from New Delhi. This Fort has now been converted into a heritage resort.
Built since 1464 AD, Neemrana Fort-Palace is India’s oldest heritage resort. It is also Rajasthan’s closest palace from New Delhi, situated at 122 kms. on the Delhi-Jaipur highway – only 100 kms from Delhi’s international airport. Sited on a majestic plateau, concealed in a horseshoe formation of the billion-year-old Aravalli ranges, Neemrana became the third capital of the descendants of Prithviraj Chauhan III, who was killed in battle by Mohammad Ghori in 1192 AD. This picturesque site was chosen by Raja Rajdeo and Neemrana derived its name from a brave local chieftain Nimola Meo, who when defeated by the Chauhans, pleaded that his name be given to his lost kingdom.
The Neemrana fort Palace Heritage Hotel has 40 air-conditioned rooms comprising of doubles, suites and deluxe suites in the four palace wings. Each room has its own unique character and history. On the basis of theme the rooms have been named as the Malabar room, Barsat Mahal, Chandra Mahal, Mata Mahal, Surya Mahal, Gopi Mahal and the Sheesh Mahal.

Devigarh Palace
This palace is situated in the age-old Aravalli hills of Rajasthan. The 18th century Devi Garh Fort Palace, commands one of the three main passes into the valley of Udaipur. Sajja Singh, who hailed from the neighbouring state of Gujarat, was awarded this strategically significant principality, in recognition of his bravery and loyalty to Maharana Pratap against the Mughal emperor Akbar, at the battle of Haldighati.
Fatehpur Sikri
