As part of a promotional event for Arkane’s upcoming game Redfall , Bethesda revealed a custom Redfall-themed Xbox Series . Redfall is an upcoming vampire-slaying first-person shooter and Arkane’s first Xbox-exclusive title after being acquired by Microsoft in 2021.
From the studio behind the Dishonored series, Prey, and most recently the acclaimed Deathloop, Arkane’s new title has a lot to live up to. Redfall is a single-player game that features optional co-op and tasks players with taking back the eponymous nautical island town of Massachusetts from a legion of ferocious vampires and their cult followers. While the open-world shooter is new territory for Arkane, Redfall is looking to maintain and hopefully develop the famous studio’s signature art style and dense vertical-level design. On Twitter, Redfall revealed the custom Xbox and controller, as well as the start of a prize event that players can enter for a chance to win one. To participate, fans must play the narrative adventure “Take Back Redfall” on Bethesda’s website and share their results on Twitter or Facebook. The text-based interactive adventure will see players speaking with the four heroes and making decisions based on encounters between vampires and cultists in the city of Redfall as they try to survive to the end.
Redfall’s custom Xbox Series It features a dark, foggy blue background for a large, menacing vampire on the front of the console while two of the four heroes, Layla with her purple umbrella and Jacob with her raven, take up position on the left side of the box. While not shown, it would be safe to assume that the other two heroes, Remi and Devinder, also occupy the right side of the console. As for the controller, it features a dark blue mist-like look with the Redfall logo on the left handle and red vampire teeth on the right.
The lottery will continue until Redfall releases next month and there will only be two winners, each of whom will randomly split the controller and console. This interactive adventure is a smart and fun way for Bethesda to get fans even more excited for Redfall as it gives players a little taste of the game’s world and atmosphere that are central to Arkane’s titles, while they await the start of their trip to the vampire-consumed island next month.
Redfall will arrive on PC and Xbox Series Yes on May 2nd.
