Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous already has a huge number of classes with twenty-six including the DLC, The Last Sarkorians. This may be overwhelming for many new players, but in the original board game there are forty classes, not including the altered variants of the classes called Unchained. These missing classes can be an important reason to sit down with friends and try Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous on the gaming table.

Although Owlcat has shown a willingness to change the way classes play from the tabletop, including changing features or adding new, original archetypes. This makes a classroom version of Owlcat an exciting event since the video game is so close to its tabletop original that it’s easy to translate screen and keyboard to pen and paper.

10 Vigilante: superheroes with secret identities
Vigilante is a unique class in the tabletop. Their main feature is called Dual Identity which allows the player to have a public identity of a notable character and a secret one of the vigilante, a masked superhero.
It would be difficult to put into a video game, but having a class that has altered Crusade Management due to their social identity would be ideal. They could also allow the player to switch sides via a unique dialogue interaction, since, after all, being in a social identity doesn’t prevent the player from using vigilante abilities.
9 Investigator: detectives who solve mysteries and fight
Much of the plot of Wrath of the Righteous is about the mystery that Areelu Vorlesh, the main antagonist, wants the player to solve. The investigator as a class is responsible for solving the case. The investigator is a hybrid like Slayer, Shaman, or Bloodrager.
This means they are a combination of two classes, while an Investigator is a combination of a red and an alchemist. The investigator has both the Studied Strike and Alchemist spells, but where they really shine is in passing rolls. Both resulting in bonuses to knowledge checks and attack roles.
8 Gunslinger: Daring acts and trick shots
One thing that sets the Pathfinder setting apart from Dungeons and Dragons is its embrace of technology. The gunslinger is a class that serves as a symbol of that part of the worldbuilding.

A gunslinger’s main skills focus on actions that are awesome acrobatic shots, which are only limited by a point pool called Grit. The problem with Gunslinger is the addition of a completely new weapon to the game, although guns in the setting have strange magical enchantments just as much as any other weapon.
7 Swashbuckler: Elegant sword-swinging
Swashbuckler is another hybrid class, this time between the fighter and the gunslinger. They have actions like Gunslinger but instead of trick shots, they have elegant sword fighting. One of the most useful allows the player to parry enemy attacks and push them back.
Swordsmen are the perfect “devil-may-care” type of character. This is a great class for any follower of the drunken god of adventurers, Cayden Cailean. It also pairs well with Shackles’ Corsair as a backdrop and the Tankard of Free Spirits item to complete the image of a cheerful swordsman saving the day from demons.
6 Spiritualist: get help from a ghost friend
The Spiritualist is a strange class, not for mechanical reasons, but because it’s technically in the game. The companion Finnean the Talking Weapon is an example of this. Even if his soul is trapped in a weapon it means he doesn’t use any of his class abilities.

A spiritualist has a companion called a ghost who is a ghost who helps the spiritualist. These ghost abilities are based on what emotion keeps the ghost attached to this world. This is great for both people who like mechanical choices and role-playing games.
5 Psychic: Mind Over Spells
Psychics are the magicians of the occult classes which is a group of classes to which the kinetic class belongs. The main change for psychics is their changes to spell casting. They get a new kind of casting lore outside of the divine and the arcane.
Psychic lore makes it more difficult or impossible to cast spells when the player character is under an emotional effect such as fear. They also have new spells that change based on spell level, meaning the player can stick with the same spell from the start of the game but much more powerful.
4 Ninja: Silent as the wind
Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous has many Japanese weapons and armor. It also introduced the Kitsune race to the video game. Despite this, both the samurai and ninja classes were excluded. The ninja class is based on the thief class, so they both have sneak attacks.
Where they change is in the ninja’s focus on stealth and movement. They have different tricks than the thief and one of their abilities allows them to walk on lava. Granted, powers like that are broad enough to change in a video game, but it shows the potential for the ninja to stand out compared to his rogue brother.
3 Summoner: Summon some help
An important strategy when facing a difficult fight in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is to fill the map with summoned creatures. The summoner is a class all about this strategy where they get bonuses to creatures summoned with spells.

Although the summoner’s defining feature is the Eidolon, a powerful customizable summon. The Eidolon is an outsider and has often been built around one of many outsider types such as angels, azatas, and devils. Lore-wise, the summoner has a connection to another plane, making it a great roleplaying game for certain mythic paths.
2 Brawler: Adaptive Fists
One of the main issues with Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is that new players may be overwhelmed by the amount of talent. Fighters can reduce these problems through their ability to modify the martial feats they have. This allows players to experiment more with a wider range of talents without fear of ruining the entire build.
It also allows the player to play as a beating character who is not a monk with his alignment resection. Fighters also specialize in combat maneuvers that allow them to engage opponents which can be both satisfying and useful.
1 Antipaladin: The champions of the dark gods
The Paladin is a great class. It allows the player to be a brilliant knight with the power of the good gods to repel demons into the abyss. Antipaladins are their direct opposite; they are chaotic evil champions of an evil god. In a game where the god the player character worships is a character creation choice having a class all for worshiping evil might shine for roleplaying.
As for the Antipaladin’s abilities, they are all dark versions of paladins, instead of helping people with mercies, they harm people with cruelties. Instead of an aura of good, they have an aura of evil. They are the perfect class to play a dark knight for darker deities.
Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is available on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
