Fans of cleaning sensation Mrs Hinch have taken to social media recently to create their own groups dedicated to cleaning tips and hacks. Mrs Hinch, whose full name is Sophie Hinchliffe, has over four million followers on Instagram. She now has a best-selling book, her own product range at Tesco and often appears on TV to share her cleaning tips.

She added: “I spray the window and just rub with the newspaper.

“Doesn’t leave streaks or any of the print on the window.”

Another user said: “Cold tea and newspapers or white vinegar.”

One person suggested: “I had the same issue, I wiped over mine with acetone to get all the grease off then hot soapy water and newspaper.”

“I do my front ones in the morning and the back in the evenings when the sun has moved to the side/front later in the day.”

Another user agreed and said: “Never clean windows in sunshine.

“Soapy hot water, window vac then polish with newspaper and vinegar.”

Other suggestions included using a Minky green cloth, using a Karcher window vacuum or Astonish window and glass.

The most bizarre suggestion was to use “half an onion” in lukewarm water.
