Today’s free horse racing tips: Carlisle and Exeter – Steve Mullen’s betting preview for Sunday, March 24
CAPTAIN ZEBO has had a little break since winning well at Wetherby last time after earlier winning on debut for his current trainer. This trip suits and there should be more to come. Battys Dilemma is related to some decent jumpers and any market move ahead of this debut would be interesting.
This track takes some getting and PITON PETE has a stamina edge over Charmant. He has some solid form over hurdles and is getting the hang of things as a chaser. Charmant has been going well at Ayr with three wins from four starts there but that uphill finish could be a tester.
SWEET VINETTA has run well twice since winning at Catterick and will appreciate this undulating trip. She looks on a fair mark and has beaten opposition of this class before. Amberose has enough ability for this and didn’t enjoy the muddling pace at Ayr last time. She is more than capable of bouncing back from that.
DU SOLEIL did well on his chasing debut when third here over 2m in October. He should build on that and the extra half-mile could bring further improvement too. Sophie Olivia likes this trip and has a win to her name over fences. She was a good second at Newcastle last time and has more to offer.

ROYAL CLARET has been in excellent form and landed a convincing win at Plumpton last time out. She’s had a little break since then but has gone well fresh before and saves her best for this distance. Creep Desbois was a good second at Southwell last time and is handicapped to go close again.
CONAS TAOI was a good winner on his last run over course and distance and followed up with a decent third at Fakenham last time out. He hasn’t climbed too far up the weights and should be thereabouts again. Pretty Miss Mahler has been knocking on the door and was a good third here last time out.
EAU TOP made a decent start to his career when fifth at Fontwell on debut last time out. He travelled like a quality performer there and should take a step forward from that. Portstorm showed positive signs on his debut third at Ayr last time when running green. He should improve a fair bit on that.
