Spurs to complete Jack Clarke transfer before loaning winger back to Leeds
TOTTENHAM will reportedly loan back Jack Clarke to Leeds once they sign the 18-year-old.
Spurs have reached an agreement for the teenager, who made his breakthrough at Elland Road last season making 25 appearances scoring twice.
But according to journalist Phil Hay, Clarke will be loaned back out to Leeds next season after the signing is complete.
It will give the winger a chance to develop more first-team football, having only managed five starts last campaign.
The transfer was slammed by former Whites right-back Danny Mills, though, who told Sky Sports it is “the wrong move” and the starlet will be “nowhere near” the Spurs first-team.
Mills said: “You have to say if a player is that good at 18-19 years old, whoever you are, you have had more starts for a Championship side.
“You’re coming off the bench and it’s easier to pick the ball up and run at people, why has Bielsa said ‘you are not worthy of more starts?’
“I actually think it’s the wrong move, is he going to be in the Tottenham team next season? No chance.
“He’s too young, he is going to be nowhere near the first team, there’s a lot of potential there, but at this stage it is very very raw and it is purely potential.
“Next season he might’ve had 15-20 starts and had the opportunity to impress, he now goes to Tottenham and at best he’s going to be in the U23 squad.
“Playing games week in week out is what he needs to do, I think this could actually send his career a bit backwards because he is not going to play football.”

Mills’ assessment of the Clarke’s move then stemmed a reaction from the 18-year-old’s dad, John, who outed the former England defender on Twitter.
Clarke’s dad tweeted: “Danny Mills sort your sad life out.
“Slaggin (sic) Jack Clarke off live on Sky and believe me you know nothing about what’s happening.”
