Cops say the couple’s eight-month-old child was there at the time, but was not injured, reports the New York Post.

Molly’s husband, 36-year-old Royce Lillard III, is suspected of killing her shortly before 5pm on Sunday.

But when police arrived at the scene, he barricaded himself inside.

After a stand-off, a SWAT team was able to enter the couple’s home at about 10.45pm.

Officers found Royce Lillard III dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to police.

Molly, 28, is believed to have been found outside the property with gunshot wounds before being taken to hospital, where she died from her injuries, reports azcentral.

Like her father, Molly was an excellent sports player and was a standout volleyball player both at her high school in Wisconsin and later at the University of Michigan.

Her dad, NFL legend Al Toon, set records with the University of Wisconsin for the Wisconsin Badgers.

The former professional football wide receiver then played for the New York Jets of the National Football League for eight seasons.

Toon, now 57, made it to the Pro Bowl three times in eight years.
