My husband swore he wasn’t going to the pub after his photography club – but it was a lie
DEAR DEIDRE: MY husband swore he wasn’t going to the pub after his photographic club meetings – but it was lies.
I’m 48, he is 46. We’ve been married for three years – second time for both of us.
He loves photography and joined a club a few months ago. Some go to the pub afterwards but he always told me he wasn’t interested. He wasn’t very late home and always seemed sober.
But we were at an exhibition the club put on and one member was there with a plaster cast on her leg. I asked how she was and she laughed and said she was fine until my husband stood on her foot in the pub the night before.
I was shocked. That was six months ago and I still don’t believe a word he says. I am always checking his phone and calling him a liar. I’ve lost all trust in him.

DEIDRE SAYS: If having a drink after the club is all he’s been doing, you have brought insecurity into this relationship, maybe from your first marriage. Did he deny pub visits because he knew you would object?
