Mick Norcross dead: Former TOWIE star and Sugar Hut boss dies at home aged 57

The Only Way Is Essex star Mick Norcross was today found dead at his Essex home. The 57-year-old’s body was discovered at his house, Essex police have confirmed.

Mick was the owner of Essex nightclub Sugar Hut which regularly featured in Essex.

Essex Police said in a statement: “We were called to an address in Brentwood Road, Bulphan shortly before 3.15pm on Thursday 21 January.

“Sadly, a man inside was pronounced dead. His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”

Tributes have been pouring in for the former TOWIE star following the tragic news.

TOWIE star Mario Falcone wrote online: “Shocked and heartbroken.”

Celebrity Big Brother star Jess Impiazzi and TOWIE’s Elliott Wright both tweeted broken heart emojis after hearing about his death.

Friend Russell Quirk added: “Sad to learn of the death of @micky_norcross – a true #Essex legend gone too soon.”

And pal Mark Hassell wrote: “I truly can’t believe this. It’s so sad. He was such an amazing man.

“Truly down to earth, welcoming & graceful. He always treated me so well.”

Mick first joined the TOWIE cast in 2010 and his Sugar Hut establishment was regularly featured on the show with the castmates attending the popular club.

The businessman joined his son Kirk on the ITV2 series and were among popular favourites Mark Wright and Gemma Collins.

But by 2013 Mick admitted he felt while the programme had raised the platform of the venue it was damaging the brand.

“My club is an upmarket venue where people come to drink champagne and feel spoiled,” Mick explained.

“All these rows they keep filming don’t show the club in a good light and I’m worried it’s putting people off coming, which is the last thing I want.”

He continued to The Sun: “Allowing the Sugar Hut Honeys to be called slags is the final straw. I would never allow that to happen in my venue. I’ve had enough. I’m out.”
