Manchester United have a decision to make with Dean Henderson pushing for a place to start in goal ahead of David De Gea. The 23-year-old is patiently waiting for an opportunity at Old Trafford as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sticks with the Spaniard.
But it is now time for the Norwegian to be ruthless and give the Englishman his chance.
De Gea has looked unconvincing in recent matches and was arguably at fault when Newcastle scored at Old Trafford this past weekend.
He was unconvincing when punching and failed to stop Allan Saint-Maximin’s effort which levelled proceedings for the visitors.
In the end, United got all three points but questions intensified over De Gea with Paul Scholes at the centre of the storm.

“Yeah, [the clean sheet record is] not good enough,” he told BT Sport.
“We mentioned it before the game, I think that is the biggest weakness in this team.
“David again, so sloppy, it’s becoming a real problem, having the confidence in your goalkeeper, and short corners, United had one out for two or three corners, this is the one where David again, can you catch that?
“He punches it into a really bad area.”
It comes amid rumours several Premier League clubs are interested in bringing Henderson in during the summer transfer window.
It should make Solskjaer’s mind up as he looks to push on again with his current squad.
De Gea has been a brilliant goalkeeper for United but in recent seasons his performance levels have dropped.
Scholes also feels United need to strengthen in the centre of defence.
“I said before the game I think that they’re missing a real dominant centre-back,” he added.
“You look back at the history of the teams that win leagues, they have real leaders in the back four.
“I think Maguire possibly could be but I think they need somebody with him who could be really dominant in that position, really commanding, can bully a centre-forward, can demand from the rest of the squad around him on and off the pitch as well.
“I just think they’re missing that.”
United return to action on Thursday in the Europa League with Henderson likely to start against Real Sociedad.
