Man City players pay for coaches for fans to take them to FA Cup final in thanks for their support
MANCHESTER CITY players have clubbed together to lay on 26 coaches for supporters to go to next month’s FA Cup final.
The gesture – which involves one coach for every senior member of Pep Guardiola’s first team squad – is a thank you for their support over the season.
City have played four times at Wembley already this season and now face Watford in the showpiece game on May 18.
They also reached the last eight of the Champions League meaning it has been an expensive business following the club on their hunt for silverware.
Skipper Vincent Kompany said: “The support from our fans throughout the season has been nothing short of incredible.
“Travelling to so many games in league and cup competitions, both home and away, is not easy to do and is something that every player in our squad values and appreciates.

“Although Wednesday night’s result was not the one that we had hoped for, it was very special to hear our fans in full voice for 90 minutes backing the team.
“We still have so much to fight for this season, and this is our way of saying thank you to them for being with us every step of the way.”
City striker Raheem Sterling joined the praise for supporters after being denied a tie-clinching hat-trick by VAR as Spurs lost 4-3 at the Etihad but reached the Champions League quarter-finals on aggregate.
The England frontman said: “I have never heard noise like that since I have been in Manchester but football is unpredictable.”
