James Bond No Time To Die theory: Fate of Daniel Craig's 007 left ambiguous like Batman

Daniel Craig’s fifth and final James Bond movie is currently shooting. But just how will the incumbent 007 bow out? Unlike previous incarnations, the 51-year-old’s has had a steady character arc throughout his movies starting at Casino Royale. Each film is standalone, but also very much a sequel to those that came before it. And now it’s all been building up to No Time To Die, picking up where Spectre left off four years ago.

But will Bond producers bite the bullet and actually kill off Craig’s 007?

It’s never been done before, but perhaps that would be the perfect ending to his character arc, like Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man?

However, what we think is more likely is an ambitious ending that leaves Bond’s fate open to interpretation.

This is something we’ve seen time and again in cinema, most noticeably with Christian Bale’s Batman in The Dark Knight Rises.

To on-lookers, Batman took a bomb out to sea to save Gotham; sacrificially dying in the process.

However, a couple of scenes later and Alfred is on holiday in Florence, where he sees Bruce Wayne alive.

The butler mentioned the setting earlier on in the film, however, the final scene is left open to the audience’s interpretation whether it’s in his imagination or not.

Director Christopher Nolan had a similarly ambiguous ending for Inception when it was unclear if Leonardo DiCaprio’s Dom was dreaming or really reunited with his children.
