Fate: The Winx Saga landed on Netflix in January 2021 and it has since taken the number one spot in the Netflix top 10. The series is a dark twist on the lighthearted animation and it follows protagonist Bloom (played by Abigail Cowen) – the Fairy of the Dragon Flame. Fans are curious to find out more about Bloom’s new acquaintance, Rosalind (Lesley Sharp), and there is a chance she could be Bloom’s fairy mother.

Is Rosalind Bloom’s real mother?
Fate: The Winx Saga has taken the world by storm as it portrays the Winx fairies in a whole new light.
The Netflix hit has dared to take a dark turn when it comes to life at Alfea College for Bloom and her friends.
In the series, the magical college was under threat from The Burned Ones, who managed to infiltrate the protective barrier at the end.
Fans came to learn how it was previous college headmistress, Rosalind, who had let the beasts in to test Bloom’s powers.
Rosalind had been manipulating Bloom’s mind and encouraged Bloom to set her free from Dowling’s (Eve Best) trap.

Over the course of the series, Bloom learned that she was a Changeling – a fairy baby swapped with a human baby at birth.
She then made it her mission to find her real parents, and she discovered Rosalind knew about them.
Bloom set Rosalind free in order to get answers, but she was not aware of the real destruction she had caused.
Dowling told Bloom how Rosalind had taken her from the village of Aster Dell and left her in the human world.
When Bloom asked why she did it, Dowling was unable to explain, saying Rosalind kept many things from her.
Rosalind told Bloom her real parents were not from Aster Dell and they were never to be found.
She is clearly hiding something regarding Bloom’s birth and fans are hoping more will come to light in season two.
Bloom initially thought of Rosalind as an ally, but when she learned the truth she realised Rosalind was only interested in her powers.
She had used Bloom to gather enough magic to break down the barrier surrounding the school and let The Burned Ones in.
There is definitely a deep connection between Bloom and Rosalind, which should come to light in the next season.
Rosalind felt maternal instincts towards Bloom when she was a baby, otherwise she would not have given her to her Californian foster parents.
The villainous headmistress also knew a lot about Bloom’s ancient magic – the Magic of the Dragon Flame.
The new series is loosely based on the animated Winx Club from back in the early 2000s, but it has deviated from the original series in many ways.
In the original, Bloom’s biological parents are Oritel and Marion, the king and queen of the realm of Domino.
Fans will be waiting to see whether the live-action series stays true to the original when it comes to the identity of Bloom’s real parents.
