A DOCTOR who groped a nurse and blamed it on a bizarre reaction to a household spray used for his pet dogs has kept his job.

Dr Colin Gelder, 59, said he felt like “Superman” when herbal fumes from a Pet Remedy plug diffuser mixed with his hay fever medication.

Dr Colin Gelder has been given a two-month suspension but will keep his job after groping a female colleague[/caption]

The 55-year-old nurse looked round after her bottom was squeezed and saw Gelder smiling at her, a tribunal was told.

On the same shift in September 2017, Gelder told another female colleague, 60, at University Hospital in Coventry, West Midlands: “You’re sexy when you are cross.”

Gelder was found guilty of sexually motivated misconduct yesterday by the Manchester tribunal, but escaped with a two-month suspension.

In a statement read out at the hearing, the nurse said: “He didn’t even have the decency to apologise.”
