Brazil’s team doctor has allayed fears over the concerning injury Neymar picked up against Nigeria.
It has been a frustrating year for Neymar in regards to injuries having spent months on the sidelines with different issues.
He broke a metatarsal earlier in the year and then suffered ligament damage in a friendly for Brazil against Qatar which ruled him out of the Copa America.
And Paris-Saint Germain fans were left sweating once again over the fitness of their star forward when he limped off the field against Nigeria on Sunday.
The 27-year-old lasted just 12 minutes as he clutched his hamstring and signalled to the bench he needed to be substituted.
He spent the rest of the match sat on the bench with ice wrapped around his thigh with fans worrying if it meant another spell on the sidelines for the talented forward.
But it appears as though the issue is’t as bad as first feared.
Globoesporte.com state the Brazil team doctor insisted Neymar wasn’t feeling any pain after the match.
There were some questions raised over Neymar’s inclusion in the line-up against Nigeria after he appeared to aggravate an injury against Singapore a few days earlier.
But Brazil boss Tite hit back at any suggestion the former Barcelona star was at risk of injury.
“No, not at all,” he said.
“It would be irresponsible and incompetent of me.
“I would have to receive the complaints of the coach and the president of PSG if that happened.”
PSG sit top of Ligue 1 but they haven’t looked as convincing as they have done in previous years.
Thomas Tuchel’s side have lost to Rennes and Reims already this campaign, with Nantes just two points behind them through nine games played.
That could be largely due to the injury issues PSG have faced so far this year with Kylian Mbappe, Neymar, Mauro Icardi and Edinson Cavani all spending time on the sidelines.
