‘Birds of Prey’ trailer: Margot Robbie is more deranged than ever as Harley Quinn

Hankering for some Harley Quinn?

Warner Brothers has finally released the first full-length trailer for “Birds Of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn.” And it has Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) looking demented as all hell, with a full cast of like-minded anti-heroines by her side.

And unlike the first teaser trailer for the upcoming spin-off flick, the full two-minute trailer is rife with plot and cast details. Harley is back in Gotham City looking for a fresh start after her “messy breakup” with the Joker (Jared Leto) in Suicide Squad.

However, as everyone’s favorite clown girl mentions, “I wasn’t the only dame in Gotham looking for emancipation.”

She’s referring to fellow bad gals Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell), Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) and Detective Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez), who she’ll be joining forces with to form a bizarro Charlie’s Angels squad of sorts, reports Cinemablend.

Their mission: to rescue Cassandra Cain aka Batgirl (Ella Jay Basco) from the diabolical Black Mask, played by an almost unrecognizable Ewan McGregor.

Not much is disclosed beyond that, although we gather from the trailer that Harley will be collecting many villain heads with her supersized mallet and spewing “girl power” quotes galore.

“I’m the one you should be scared off,” proclaims Quinn. “Not you, not Mr. J. Because I’m Harley Freaking Quinn.”

Along with the cast that appeared in the trailer, “Birds Of Prey” will also feature Ali Wong, Robert Catrini, Chris Messina, Steven Williams and Derek Wilson. It will be directed by Cathy Yan, the mind behind comedy-drama “Dead Pigs.”

Robbie will reprise her role as Harley Quinn in James Gunn’s “The Suicide Squad” in August 2021, a re-imagining of the critically-panned original. Here’s hoping that with the recent release of the Joker and IT 2, they haven’t crammed the cinematic clown car to capacity.

“Birds Of Prey” is slated to hit theaters on February 7, 2020.
