Arsenal team doctor ‘arrives in Brazil’ to conduct medical on £36m striker Everton who lit up the Copa America
ARSENAL have reportedly sent a club doctor to Brazil to conduct a medical on £36million striker Everton Soares.
The 23-year-old, who lit up the Copa America, has already confirmed that an offer is on the table this summer ahead of a move from Gremio.
Manchester United had reportedly sent scouts to watch the forward help Brazil lift the South American championships in his native country.
But Arsenal swooped to agree a £36m deal for Everton, with an initial fee of £25m to be boosted by £11m in add-ons.
Representatives from the club have now arrived in Porto Alegre today in order to get the transfer over the line, according to Brazilian journalist Sergio Araujo.
The move is set to be announced within the next few days, as Everton revealed he may not be playing in Gremio’s Copa do Brasil quarter-final on Wednesday.
Speaking after their match against Vasco on Saturday, he said: “I do not know. It’s an unknown.
“Really. I do not know what can happen. As time goes by, things are tapering.
“I have a proposal. I cannot talk to the club.
“I do not guarantee that I will play against Bahia on Wednesday, we will see.”

Everton recently fuelled rumours of a switch to North London after he started following compatriot Gabriel Martinelli on Instagram.
The Brazilian teenager is the Gunners’ only signing so far this summer but has already made his mark at the club by marking his debut with a memorable goal.
Unai Emery has also hinted that his £6m signing could have a role to play this season despite Martinelli being expected to feature in the academy.
